I got approved to recieve money back for my student loan and It will be sent to my school Monday April 3. How long does it take for them to pay my classes for this quarter off to pay me the rest of the funds that are left?

I’m applying for a student loan from CitiAssist and I believe it will be sent directly to the school. I am borrowing more than the COA – Aid because I can’t afford the books, transportation and food expenses.

So if the money is disbursed to the school, how can I get the extra money to pay off my other expenses?

I have a 3.8 GPA, did a varsity sport throughout high school, am involved with four clubs (two of them are national honor societies). I also am a educator for the Red Cross and do ballet. I’ve worked as an EMT and a lifeguard. I have also started my own non-profit organization for education.
I have no preference about the location of the university.

I was just wondering what all a student loan covered? Do you determine what it covers or does the bank?
