Does anyone have experience with discharging a student loan due to permanent disability after receiving the loans? I am in process of tying to have my loans discharged but am wondering if I am just wasting my time with the Department of Education. Is it possible to really do this? I’m looking for personal experiences, not websites. Thank you.
I do have a permanent disability and is verified by doctors. Also, I am on social security disability for this disability.

I applied for a private student loan consolidation from Sallie Mae but they said I didnt meet their credit requirements. Which is weird because I have a cosigner who has great credit. I do not know where to turn next or who is a good company to consolidate my loans. I know that I need this to get done ASAP because I have already started making payments of almost 0 a month!! Any advice?

I heatd from someone that student loan consolidation is filing some type od bankrupcy and that if I have all of my loans from the same lender then they are already going to be just one payment. Is this true? I do have a substancial amount of student loan debt and am about to graduate so is it best to consolidate or to leave it alone since I have always borrowed from the same lender? i would really appreciate your help. I have 00 in credit card debt and i’m still a student so i was wondering if i could use some money from my subsidized student loan to pay some of that debt.
I also was thinking of payment the rent for the place i’m staying but i don’t know if i can do that or not.
Any suggestions? And i’d like to know if there are other loans with low interest that would help me do that. Thank you.
