I currently have no credit history, and no available co-signer for a private student loan. I have exhausted my availability of government sponsered Stafford loans and Pell grants. I need a private loan in the amount of around 2000 dollars to supplement the remainder of my tuition that will be paid out-of-pocket through working on nights and weekends in two jobs.

I have bad credit but my granmother has really good credit. She already told me that she would co-sign a loan with me. We tried Sallie Mae but turned us down because of my credit. Does anyone know of a student loan company that will give someone a private student loan even with bad credit?

I can find plenty of banks that offer private student loan consolidations loans, but often, many places seem "gimicky." Any help appreciated!
