Ok, so we are going to go do our tax returns, and I was just curious, I still owe money for my student loan ( I am not working but my husband is) I am way behind on paying the student loans and they told me that they could garnish my wages and take money from my tax returns. Will they take that money from my husband just because I am on his taxes? And another question if they ask me if I have a student loan and I say yes, are they going to grant me money to help pay them off, or are they going to take money from his taxes? Pretty much the same question but someone please help!

I’m being harassed for a student loan that is from 1987. The IRS has never attached my tax returns or garnished my wages. Is this debt legitimate?

My student loan defaulted and they are taking pmts from my wages. 15% per pay period, Which OK its a debt so I will pay it. I know that when it defaulted it killed my credit, so …Will my credit get better after awhile, since all pmts will be made on time through wage garnishing? Will this problem eventually turn to be something good or will it always darken my credit until its paid off?

42k gross this last year. If I input the student loan interest I paid along with wages/income, my refund is .
If I do not include the student loan interest paid, I get 0.
Usually when I add in the student loan interest to my return, then my refund goes from 0 or so to between 0-800. Any reason that this year it takes that much away, but before it doubled it?
The only difference between this year and the last was I got a 2nd job.

I have student loan interest but have gained it through having my wages garnished. Can I still use this deduction or does it not matter?
