Is it better to go to the best university or an ok university?

I currently go to one of the best universities for my program and I get okay grades and I’m thinking to transfer to another university that is an ok university (it has much lower rankings) but I am sure I would get really good grades…which option is better? Also the university that is okay is in my hometown and I currently live in another province to go to school.

If you’re looking to go to grad school or find a job in the field you are studying, it’s best to go to a university that has a really good program in the field. The professors can help you make the connections that are essential to starting a successful career. Most people are very loyal to their alma maters, so if you contact someone who graduated from your uni and tell them where you go to school and that you want to get started in their field, they will probably more than happy to help.
Also, many ok universities don’t really have classes to cover the field you want to study to the extent you want to study it. Ok universities often just have a lot of classes that cover the basics, then don’t offer many in-depth classes. Going to a university with a good program in the field you want to study lets you study it in depth and be a lot more prepared to start a career in the field.
Hope this helps,

the best university has more exposure.. and more chances of a good career.. but keep in mind that it depends on ur talent and skill also…instead if u prefer staying in ur own hometown, i guess u should go to the "okay" type.. if it was me, i would choose the first one only

I guess if you want to be the best at what you do stick with the one you go to and work harder. If you just want to get any job in any field you can choose the latter option. If you are going for a specialised job I am pretty sure that the employers will consider the best University graduate rather than the not so good one.
For eg everyone would prefer a graduate from Oxford with a 2.2 rather than a graduate with a first class from an alright University.
I believe it always depends on what your future decisions are. Specialisted option- go for best Uni, for a general option (general Management) just go for the normal Uni.
